Galatians 2:6 "God accepts no man's person"

Some good thoughts on this from Martin Luther, expressed in a way that only he could. I love this brother, and look forward to meeting him in heaven.

""If the Pope will grant unto us that God alone by His mere grace through Christ does justfies sinners, we will not only carry him in our hands, but will kiss his feet. But since we cannot obtain this, we in God will give no place, no, not one hair's breadth, to all the angels in heaven, not to Peter, not to Paul, not to a hundred emperors, not to a thousand popes, nor to the whole world. Let this be then the conclusion: that we will suffer our goods to be taken away. our name, our life, and all that we have; but the gospel, our faith, Jesus Christ, we will never suffer to be wrested from us."

"That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth;
The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him Who with us sideth:
Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also;
The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still,
His kingdom is forever."

The Lord and His Word are our refuge. It's where we need to go for safety and for solace. In these dark days ahead, may the Church wake up to this one truth more than all others, that His truth will ever abide, and we need to have it abiding in us. John 15:7
And then our prayers with the Holy Spirit interceding for us will be more powerful than we could have ever imagined. For we don't know what we should pray as we ought to, but the Spirit intercedes. He takes our meager words, and groans with us, and helps us bring petitions before the throne of grace, that are according to the will of the Father.
I know I need to be praying much more than I do, but sometimes I feel like it's a waste of time. But according to Romans 8:26-27, it's never a waste of time. Never.

Amen to all of that...

I could be accused of being drunk on Luther, but when the well gives good water...

It is a great grace that God has decreed that the Holy Spirit might help us in our prayers because, like you said, many times we don't know how we should pray!

I'm encouraged and edified with your thoughts.
Thanks.
To God be all the glory, for all that we do.
