7 things about me

I have been tagged, and so I will try to be brief and yet transparent about who I am.

1. I co-own an aluminum gutter and downspout company, and we install gutters for builders all over MD and PA. The Lord has truly been gracious, and we have been financially blessed.

2. I was an elder in my local EFCA church for 10 years or so. It was an honor to serve the Lord and the body as an elder. And I enjoyed serving with my fellow elders and pastors.

3. I love coming together on the Lord's Day for worship and to pray, and to hear the Word. There's no place I'd rather be.

4. I have many shortcomings. I can be timid and lazy, and I need to be admonished in these area's, which my wife doesn't mind doing. She's the Holy Spirit's "numero uno" tool to work on my heart and mind.

5. I played football and lacrosse in HS. These are my two favorite sports; although I enjoy watching ESPN, and all the major sports events. I usually have a Super Bowl party at my house each year, and we have a great time.

6. I was quite the sinner until God saved me when I was 31 years old. He got hold of my soul when I was driving a Budweiser truck for a living. It took a couple DWI's and a little time in the tank to get me to cry out. And the Lord kept me driving a beer truck for a couple more years. It was amazing how He had His hand on me back then. God put a Bible in my hand, and I became hungry to know it, and still am.

7. My daughter was born weighing in at two pounds. She actually had an operation on her little heart when she was less then two pounds, and this was back in 1975. God was so gracious and kind to bring her through. And now my three grandsons are all special joys in my life.

I must say, I'm not very good at this sort of thing, though I don't mind doing it. I hope that these 7 short statements of myself help to reveal a little of who I am.

It was a blessing to be asked and tagged by you my brother.

May you and your family be blessed by His love and joy for your faithful service to our Lord, and for the Gospel.

Enjoyed learning a little more about you. I have two questions.....what does EFCA & NSA stand for. Not familiar with these.

Stephanie, my daughter, still has a scar that goes half way around her, but it's not bad, just a reminder. Funny how that scar was only a few inches when they first cut her.

She's doing fine. Just the normal struggles of a Christian mom and wife.

Lord's grace and peace.

Sadly, this is a truth apparent in my own life...I appreciate your honesty. And yes, it is funny how the Holy Spirit more oft than not confronts us through our wives. Faithful are the wounds of a wife, lol!

Nice thought. Thanks for sharing.

And the Lord is faithful to help us overcome our shortcomings, little by little.

That's what the body of Christ needs most; encouragement/admonishment.
