"... another generation.." Judges 2:10

"So the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua,
... When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.
Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, .. and they forsook the Lord." Jud. 2:7-12

Although it's been 3,400 plus years since the people of God turned their backs on the Lord back in Canaan, we still haven't learned our lesson, it seems.

Seems when there are godly men to lead God's people, then the people of God serve the Lord. But, if, and when, they all disappear, then it's not long before the people of God, or the Church, wanders unto the broad and wide highway to worldliness and idol worship.
Our idols aren't the same as back then, but we have our idols, that's no secret.

I pray that God would raise up godly leaders for the next generation, and that these men of God will preach the Word in truth and in the Spirit. And that they will walk before the face of the Lord with integrity. That they would be courageous, so that they tear down the false idols, and lift up the holy name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He is the worthy One. We're not worthy. But Jesus is more worthy than we can even express with words!

Strong leaders are needed, and a strong leader is someone who sees just how unworthy he is, and how incredibly worthy our Lord Jesus Christ is.
Lord raise up leaders to lead Your people, and to worship the Father in truth and Spirit. Amen.

Strong godly leaders are exactly what is needed to shape the next generation for Christ. More than preaching the Word, they must be willing to invest time mentoring future leaders.

I believe you are right. It seems our culture has evolved to the point of wanting to accomodate all views and it has rubbed off on the church.
