"The Devil loves religion" Gal. 3:1

" ... the devil has sent the enchanting false apostles, his children, among you, and they bewitched you in teaching that you are justified by the law. But we labor, both by preaching and writing unto you, to uncharm that sorcery by which you have been bewitched and to set at liberty those who have been ensnared.

Yet such there are as will not allow themselves to be taught, ... they abuse and corrupt the Scriptures with false glosses and devilish dreams, which is a sure sign that they are bewitched by the devil. Surely I could never have believed that the power of the devil is so great, that he is able to make falsehood so like the truth. When he goes about to overwhelm sorrowful consciences with much heaviness, he can so cunningly change himself into the likeness of Christ that it is impossible for the poor tempted soul to perceive it. By this, many are deceived and driven down to desperation." -Martin Luther

The Mormon Tabernacle, the Vatican, The Crystal Cathedral, and many other such religious structures can have so much splendor and yet are very deceiving. The devil is a mastermind of deception.

When we hold fast to the Word of God, and speak the Gospel of grace alone through faith alone, in love, there's nothing the devil can do but flee.
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you".

Religion is the devil's business...

very interesting thought...this post convicted me to be more "careful" about my theology. If my theology is not grounded in Scripture, how do I know that I am not believing the religion of the devil? Sobering thought.

Thanks for the post!

I believe Luther, because of the age in which he lived and his giftedness with the Holy Writ, has a lot of insight for us all on how Satan lays his masterful schemes within the Church.
