"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye is single, your whole body shall be full of light.
But if your eye be evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!" Matt. 6:22-23
The world's darkness is mostly darkness. There are portions of the world, who have attained enough of the truth to make darkness light and light darkness. Humanism would be an example of this. But for the rest of the world, they are in total darkness, and the Church needs to be the light set upon a hill, so that God can bring His lost children to it.
Of course, it's our Lord Jesus who is the light of the world, and he in no way depends on us to be His light for Him, however the way He shines, the way He has purposed to shine, is through His Church. And we need to be fired-up about that, because God's desire is to be worshipped through out the world, and He has given us orders to go and make disciples.
I have a good friend and missionary for Christ living in Nepal, where it is pitch dark, and Satan has this nation blinded. But, the Gospel is penetrating this darkness. The prayers of the saints, and the Church obeying it's call, has brought many converts into the Church, so that they too can worship the Father in Spirit and in truth.
The darkness that is light, which our Lord speaks of, is most likely, I believe, something that takes place within the hearts of those who are within the Church; those who are false disciples, and how great is this darkness!
The single eye sees Christ, and Christ alone. It sees that all glory is for Christ, and we dare not add anything to Christ whatsoever.
The evil eye sees Christ and money; Christ and works; Christ and fame; and whatever else can be added to Christ, in order to join with Him in His glory. This is light that is dark, and it is the darkest dark there is.
Jesus said, "I am the light of the world: he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life".
He also said, "Walk while you have the light, lest darkness come upon you".
And so, "if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin."
When all this is taking place in our lives, we shine for Him. And we shall experience the blessings of His love, and in turn, are able to make manifest His love in a world of hatred and self-love.

We are seeing more and more of calling evil, good and good, evil in our culture. I appreciate the content of your blog very much. It is most definitely a light that shines truth for all that may happen by.

There are 25 watt, 40 watt, and all the way up to 2,000 watt bulbs.
It's difficult to understand sometimes how bright we need to shine I think.
