"Now we intreat you, brothers, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him" -Paul the Apostle

[The Last Judgement by Michelangelo.]

"And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: ...And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: ..the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works therein shall be burned up. ...Nevertheless we...look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness. ..For this we say unto you by the Word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede them which are asleep. ...Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves will hear His voice,
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. ...The Son of man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and them who do iniquity;
And shall cast them into a furnance of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Then shall the righteous shine forth...In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trump shall sound, and the dead shall rise incorruptible, and we shall be changed. ...And the seventh angel sounded (the last trumpet)...And the nations were angry, and Your wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that You should give reward unto all Your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear Your name, small and great; and should destroy those who destroy the earth. ...For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? ... watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with... cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. ...Wherefore comfort one another with these words. ...For God has not appointed us for wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ."

There is not a shadow of a doubt that Christ, the King of kings, shall return one day for His beloved children, and to judge those who spurned Him. It is so very clear here in these few verses, and even more clear when we read all that the Bible has recorded for us on the subject of Jesus' Second Coming.
Be encouraged and read, and mull over these Scripture passages, and our minds will then be renewed, and our hearts strengthened.

One final verse: "...My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand." Amen and amen!

There is one thing I am recently curious about. The new earth... will the old earth be completely replaced, or will it simply be renewed. I spoke with someone this week who compared it to volcanic resurfacing. Until this week, I never gave it a second thought, and supposed that the planet would entirely be swapped out with a brand new replacement. Any thoughts on this?

I think God is going to keep this earth, and redo it Craver. That's my thinking.
It will be an earth as we always have longed for, and never had.

Can hardly wait. It would be far, far better to have the new earth now for us, but it is more expedient for us to be here, as God by His grace uses us for His glory, and for edifying others, and even, perhaps, bringing others out of the darkness.

Thanks for stopping by Craver. Lord bless and your new soon to be born, grand child, and your whole family. Amen.
