"..but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”-Peter, the Apostle

"who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel"

"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love"

And we need to perpetually remind ourselves that being holy is to be set apart for God, and to God, which means it starts in the heart, our heart desires to be sanctified, and then God works in us, and through us to conform us into the image of Christ.

Holy living is a difficult thing to learn and understand, and then to do.

May our Savior and Lord help us become holy for Him in this life, and also remind us that all our holiness is truly His gracious gift to us and only available because of His shed blood. Amen.
