“Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”- the blind man Jesus healed, John 9:25

"..he [Jesus] anointed the man's eyes with the clay and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing." John 9:6-7

"The simple, straightforward boldness of this man, standing before the most formidable court of the Jews, and telling out his story, is very noteworthy. It is, moreover, a complete statement of facts, and consequences. "He put clay: I washed: I see." -JC Ryle

This portion of Scripture makes me think of how I was once blind, but by God's grace I now see.
Just as John Newton's 'Amazing Grace says in the first stanza:

"Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see. "

I was once touched with the clay of my Lord to my spiritual eyes, and washed with His water and blood.
If not for His grace and mercy, I would still be blind to the truth and full of sin. My heart would yet be callous, if not for His Holy Spirit coming to me, and taking my hard heart, and giving me a new heart, so that I might see and understands how sinful I am, and how Christ's death and resurrection are the power for me to be forgiven of all my sins, and to become an heir of eternal life, and one day be with my God and Savior.

There are many such accounts in the NT that when I meditate on them, I can find my way to many tears of joy and love for my Lord and my Savior.

Such profound mercy and grace, not merely pointed in my direction, but finding me out, as one who is purposely singled out in the crowd for such blessings.

Truly goodness and mercy cannot help but follow such a thing.

Some fine words Daniel. Thanks for sharing your heart.

Jesus is our Good Shepherd, who came to seek and rescue the lost.
