"Worship without mission is self-indulgent. Mission without worship is self-defeating." -Tim Hughes

I like this brother, Tim Huges', heart. Yet, is his Gospel unbalanced? First, I'd say, not by much, and yet it is lacking I think.

The heart of Christ is for the poor, and for helping people. God's heart is full of compassion. I shared about this in my last post. So Tim is spot on with his words about this. And he says them with such eloquence, I was very blessed to hear him share his heart.

But, Jesus has a wrath. It's a wrath against the wicked, and against sin; and sinners. This sinners need forgiveness, or they will be condemned in their sin. Jesus Christ is the only forgiveness for sin. There is no other way of being forgiven by God.

We need to hear that God's judgment is upon all who live their lives without Christ and His truth. In fact Paul says we are all under God's wrath, and are by nature children of wrath.

When we understand this truth, I believe God's love becomes even more intense and actually becomes the love Paul tells us about in his letter to the church at Ephesus, where he says:

"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, ....that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."

And so God has a love that is beyond comprehension, and we are seek to know this love. Though, we shall never know it completely, we surely can experience it, and grow to know it more fully, as we look into the Scriptures as we pray for His Spirit to enlighten our minds, and fill our hearts.

And so we need to hear the Word, in order to be doers of the same.

Here's a song that also shows Tim's heart, and is quite a good song, that focuses on the Cross, and death of our Lord and Savior. So be blessed and encouraged in this gifted brother, and his music.
