30 years ago today John Lennon was viciously murdered.

"For everybody's cryin', and no one makes a sound"-John Lennon

"Lennon was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, where it was stated that nobody could have lived for more than a few minutes after sustaining such injuries......The first bullet missed, passing over Lennon's head and hitting a window of the Dakota building. However, two of the bullets struck Lennon in the left side of his back, and two penetrated his left shoulder. Three of the four bullets passed completely through and exited the front of Lennon's body, resulting in a total of seven gunshot wounds. While all four shots inflicted severe gunshot wounds, the two fatal wounds were to his left lung and the left subclavian artery, near where it branches off of the aorta. .....no one could have lived more than a few minutes with such multiple bullet injuries. As Lennon was shot four times with hollow-point bullets, which expand upon entering the target and severely disrupt more tissue as they travel through the target, Lennon's affected organs were virtually destroyed upon impact."
This was a vicious murder done 30 years ago. This murderer is still alive, living in prison with many advantages. And he may be paroled some day.

He should have been executed shortly after murdering John Lennnon. Incredible he gets to live and see his loved ones, and John's loved ones are deprived.
I liked John Lennon. I disagreed with his politics, and religion. I hope he made his"peace" with God. he had his views on peace, but he never, to my knowledge, understood who the Prince of Peace was. This is the peace mankind needs to understand, more than any other.

My wife is a big fan, but not me. You raise a good point about justice, though. Prison is as far as many a "civilized" person would go, but that is not the same as an eye for an eye. The ones who are punished legally do not suffer as bad as the victims... on this side of eternity.
