" ... by their fruits you shall know them." Matt. 7:20

"Now after a man is once justified, and possessses Christ by faith, and knows that He is his righteousness and life, doubtless he will not be idle, but as a good tree he will bring forth good fruit. For the believing man has the Holy Ghost, and where the Holy Ghost dwells He will not suffer a man to be idle, but stirs him up to all exercises of piety and godliness, of true religion, to the love of God, to the patient suffering of afflictions, to prayer, to thanksgiving, to the exercise of charity towards all men." -Martin Luther

"And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not fade; an whatsoever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so." Psalm 1:3-4

To bear fruit we need to hear the Word. We need to eat it. For it is our food indeed. And we need to drink of the Spirit, for only He can quench our thirst.
We need the truth, and the Holy Spirit, in order to bear the fruit of love and righteous living.

Two things captured my attention here. First, that is a wonderful picture!! I stood and looked at it for a while, because of the stunning beauty.

The other thing is the idea of being possessed. How come a person who is possessed by the devil acts like the devil, but people do not anything special out of the person who is possessed by the Holy Spirit?

Good point Craver. God the Holy Spirit is sovereign, and loves us. And so, wills in us to do His good pleasure. Surely we will be stubborn at times, but God is not put off by a stubborn son, he simply disciplines us, because He loves us, and His chastizing produces the fruit of holiness. Hebrews 12

Yeah. I was looking for a picture of a tree by a river.
I went to a site of photos of Yosemite Park, and was blown away with the beauty! Never been there, but would love to visit some day, Lord willin'.
