As I sang this hymn with the Body of Christ yesterday, as we assembled together to worship the Lord, I was most touched by this one verse. I felt sinful, because of my sin, and yet I felt pure joy because of His promise of forgiveness, and because Jesus died for me. And not only died, but rose for me as well.
May you, if you have been forgiven, and have known the grace of God, be encouraged that "not in part but the whole" of your sin has be blotted out by the blood of Christ, and that your sins are gone forever. They are removed as far as the East is from the West.
The Lord wants us to rejoice in His love and forgiveness, for this is where our strength comes from. For those who are truly born anew of God's Spirit, will never take their sins lightly, which is right and good to do. But on the other side of this emotion of regret and sorrow, God has given us joy unspeakable, and peace that passeth all understanding! And it's because of His promise of grace to all who believe in Him, and love Him.
Do you love Jesus? Here's a good way to tell. When you sin, do you hurt in your heart, not just for your own sake, and for the sake of others, but do you hurt because you sinned against Christ?

Hmmm. Doesn't sound much like the lord that I read about in the bible, who is wrathful and vengeful: "... who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and rocks are thrown down by him."
Doesn't sound like the sort of god I want to be associated with.
The Lord is a just God. He will judge all who ever lived. His justice will be perfect, for He is perfect.
Jesus said we will be judged by our mouths, and how we spoke. The words we speak will judge us, or justify us.
Peter is a great example for us. He said to Jesus when he first met the Lord, after they had gone out in his boat to fish, and the Lord proved to Peter who He was, and when he feel at Jesus' knees he said, "Depart from me for I am a sinful man, O Lord!"
Jesus said to him, "From now on you shall be a fisher of men".
The Lord touched Peter's heart, and Peter saw how evil his own heart was. And Jesus responds with love and kindness toward a new disciple, who would have many more sins, and yet would be forgiven and loved by Christ through His death on the Cross. Peter would then go on to die for his Lord Jesus Christ.
He's a great example of Christ's forgiveness.
Many would not fall before Jesus, and they will be judged by a holy righteous God.
Repent and ask for mercy, and you shall receive, but resist the truth, and you have to answer for every word you ever spoke.
Poor Maalie - he doesn't understand that God is both - and that is good.
