Humble yourselves, therefore, ......so that at the proper time God may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because He cares for you." -Peter

"To know Christ, serve Christ, follow Christ, obey Christ, work in Christ's vineyard, fight Christ's battle, all this is no small matter. But for sinful men and women like ourselves to be called "friends of Christ," is something that our weak minds can hardly grasp and take in. The King of kings and Lord of lords not only pities and saves all them that believe in Him, but actually calls them His "friends." We need not wonder, in the face of such language as this, that St. Paul should say, the "love of Christ passeth knowledge." (Ephes. iii. 19.) -John Charles Ryle

It's been a hard season lately: sin, trials, and relationships most of all, can take their toll on one's soul and mind.
Where can a heavy heart and anguished soul go? Christ bids us "Come unto Me, and I will give you rest. I care for you, and you are my friend."

If we truly understand what humility is, and desire in our hearts to be humble, then we can approach our Lord and cast all our cares, (no matter what they may be), upon Him. And He will help us. Not because we are worthy, but because He died for us to make us His friends. This is an amazing grace and incredible truth that we can take to heart every day, if not every hour, if not every minute.
