"So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it some day for a crown."-George Bennard

George Verwer, a genuine Evangelist of Christ our Lord
Washington Bible College had quite a Missions Conference this past week. The main speaker during this Conference was George Verwer, the man who founded Operation Mobilization, one of the Lord's finest missionary outreach ministries in the world today.
I was edified and inspired by this humble, and yet great, servant of our Lord.
His passion for reaching the world with the good news of Christ for the glory of God is wonderful to behold. And here's a man that is a true missionary/evangelist.
Since he began his journey and ministry for the Lord 47 years ago, his organization has sent out 130,000 missionaries, and even now at this time there are some 4,500 missionaries all over the globe. They are dedicated to preaching the gospel, and sharing the Bible with as many people as they can. I pray the church would become fired-up like this man is. Or at least catch just a small spark from this man of God's heart.
He also shared all the problems, and sin, that goes along with going forth in faith with the Gospel. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against Satan and his wickednesses. (Ephesians chapter 6)
May the Lord continue to bless George, his family, and his ministry, in greater ways than he could have ever thought. Amen.

Wow, that is really neat! I know of OM from a church my family went to in NJ many years ago. I have not kept up with them but am glad to hear of this event and that you got to attend. Very cool.
Btw I see by your profile you are local to me (baltimore area). =)
I would have loved to hear George. Praise God for the impact of that ministry.
