I love to see the Body of Christ encouraging one another, and even challenging one another in the Scriptures. When God's saints are in His Word, and prayerfully considering His truths, then the heart will be shaped, and the mind renewed. We will be conformed a little bit more into the image of Christ.
Paul also says he wants us to attain "the full assurance of understanding". And he wants us to have assurance, "lest anyone should deceive us with persuasive words".
Assurance is such an essential teaching for the child of God. For our hearts will condemn us from time to time, but God is greater than our heart. And we need to grasp this truth and never let go.
"Christians should find comfort in the biblical promises of assurance. ... Our Lord did not intend His people to be trapped in a constant pattern of doubt and insecurity. To the contrary, Christ instructed His sheep to trust in Him and His promises." - Al Mohler
"If the Gospel was the power of God for salvation, if in Christ we are accounted righteous before the Father--so the Reformers understood--since earthly fathers lavish on their children assurances of their love, protection, and provision, how much more does our heavenly Father lavish on us His love, protection, and provision!"-Sinclair Ferguson

AMEN brother.
I second that amen with a hallelujah!
For the last year I've been focusing on the Beauty of the Body of Christ. I love your first paragraph because I believe so much that we are failing in this area of touching the body and being touched by it. It is beautiful to behold and I'm so excited about her wedding day!
