Praying for Peace at the Washington National Cathedral

"On Tuesday, October 16, 2007 join Bishop John Bryson Chane and Cathedral Dean Samuel T. Lloyd III for Pray for Peace, an extraordinary night of prayer and music bringing together Graham Nash, David Crosby, Jackson Browne, Keb’ Mo’, Krishna Das, Emily Saliers and John Hall with Tibetan monks and prominent interfaith religious leaders as they join to express a collective desire for global peace through spiritual wisdom and song."

Who are these people praying to, would be my question?

There's only One God. Jesus Christ is the One Mediator between God and man. There's no other name in heaven and earth whereby a man can pray to God, other than the name of Christ.

It's an offense to the Cross of Christ, and His holy love for His Father, that people who will not acknowledge Christ as Lord of the universe, think their praying has any genuine virtue.

The Bible says many times that people will cry out, "Peace, Peace!", but their is no peace.
Jesus is the Prince of peace. Jesus is the Way, and the Truth, and the Life, and no one can approach the throne of God unless through Him.

But the good news is that Jesus has made a way to come to the holy throne of God! When one repents and trusts Christ, the risen Christ who sits at the right hand of God, then that one can come boldly to the throne of grace and mercy.

The other problem with praying for peace, is that the peace these people want is world peace. And that ain't gonna happen'. Well, it will when the Lord returns to establish His kingdom. Until then the kingdom of God is the Church, where the Holy Spirit resides.

The Church is to take this message of the good news of Christ to the world, and those who come to trust in Christ will experience His peace: A peace that says you are no longer under God's wrath, which is what this world is under, even now. Of course they are totally ignorant of this truth, and we as disciples of Christ Jesus, need to be praying and lovingly evangelizing every nation.

So this praying for peace affair at the National Cathedral is worthless really, and not only that, God hates it, for it mocks His Holy Son, Jesus Christ, and God despises idolatry, especially, in the midst of His Church.

And yet these who pray for peace in the world think all the gods love it, or the one big god. They must think the Jesus they recognize from their own hearts loves this praying for peace, and of course Krishna loves it, and whatever other god they may acknowledge must certainly be entreated by their supplications.

They couldn't be more wrong. For all other gods, are no gods at all. And Satan is surely behind a prayer meeting like this one, there can be no doubt.

Lord open their eyes to Your truth, and to the wondrous Cross You died upon, and to the empty tomb You walked forth from.
