A splendid Saturday in Baltimore! A little piece of heaven.

A little snow, a couple "free' cookies from the bakery for the grandsons, a hot cup of coffee for Pop, and a little visit to feed the ducks & geese at the pond--(and the seagulls, who aren't really welcome, but like to show up), and I'm having a foretaste of heaven in the Lord.

Well, at least for me, the little delights like these are a foretatse of the New Earth, when we will enjoy this planet as it was meant to be, but for the sin of mankind. God is incredibly gracious. Now, with these foretastes, and when He returns with a perfect New Earth, where there's no more sin, and no more pain, but an earth full of righteousness and love.

donsands,

You remind me of something that most of the American church needs to be reminded of. God's work of redemption through Jesus Christ includes the redemption of his creation. We tend to think salvation is all about us. It's all about God and his glory and when we see the re-creation we will just be beginning to understand God's work!

Good thought brother.

I try to ponder on what the New Earth will be like every once and a while. And so then I look forward to that day even more. christ is what terenal life is all about; He is the ultimate reason for life, and eternal life.

I remember hearing a saying by an old saint that said: "If I die and go to heaven, and Jesus isn't there, then it will be hell. If I die and go to hell, and Jesus is there it will be heaven."

That's a heart fit for heaven. I'm not quite there yet.
