Glenn Kaiser - Since I Laid My Burdens Down

I bumped into this video tonight "clicking" around the YouTube site. I thought it was nice to see Glen Kaiser still singing to the Lord after all these years.
I had quite a few Rez Bands LP's, and I was really into Jesus People USA back in the late 1980's and onward. I also subscribed to their Magazine, "Cornerstone", which was very different for a Christian focused Magazine.
And I still send a few bucks every now and then to CCO, (Cornerstone Community Outreach).
There aren't too many churches like this one around. They have a facinating history of how the Lord worked in and through JPUSA, especially during the Jesus Movement days. They focused on apologetics as well, and exposed many of the imposters in the church at the time.
It was a nostalgic moment for me.

"Cornerstone Community Outreach was founded in 1989 by the long-standing church mission, Jesus People USA Evangelical Covenant Church. With the assistance of the City of Chicago, CCO purchased and rehabilitated what is now the CCO Shelter. The building accommodates a large kitchen and dining area, and a large dormitory for women and children. A one-million dollar renovation furnished us with the daycare center, the three intact families rooms, the adolescent boys dorm, new bathroom facilities with showers, the laundry room, and recreational facilities".

Glenn sent me a signed CD a couple years ago. His 'Glenn Kaiser Band Live' LP. All blues.

The man can really sing the blues for the Lord.

Thanks for stopping by Chris.

Sandman,

When I was pastoring across the lake from Chicago we had a great relationship with JPUSA and often had their music group and folks over for the weekend. Awesome experience.

Say, with Spring around the corner, your interceding brother is wondering how business is shaping up for this year...

"we had a great relationship with JPUSA"

Wow. What a true blessing for you, and I'm sure some fond memories Dave.

My company and business seems like it may take until 2011 until we're happy again. (It could happen sooner, we just don't know for sure.)
Can we make it that far?
I'm not sure. But we're gonna give it our best shot, and see if we can stay afloat, though the boat has a couple slow leaks, we ain't sunk yet.

Thanks for praying Dave. I really do appreciate it.
God has answered some prayers, that's for sure. This is His company to be honest.

Here are the words we penned back in 1997 when I and my two brothers in Christ began our gutter company, Shepherd & Sons, Inc.:

"..our chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, has granted to us an opportunity to begin a new enterprise.
We are all agreed that the threefold purpose of this company is to: 1. Bring honor and glory to our God and Savior, Jesus Christ. 2. To support our families and to provide their daily needs. 3. To liberally contribute to our church for the futherance of the Gospel, and to support those who are struggling with inadequate funds.

We committ all that we are to our Lord. We surrender all that we own to God's glory.
May our Lord give us hearts of integrity and faith.
May we prosper, only if it is His will. Amen." March 1st 1997

"The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."
