"The Blood of the saints, is the seed of the Church".
I'm quite humbled by this dear brother in Christ, Daniel Wong. There truly is a subtle, (and not so subtle), spiritual war going on in this age; and I think we forget that, don't we, here in our "soft" and secure American Christianity. The "not so subtle" spiritual war of persecution of the saints is powerfully used by the sovereign Lord to show the magnitude of His faithful servants. Persecution also separates the genuine disciples, who love Christ and His Word, from those who are more or less infatuated with their own religion, or Christianity, and their own moralism, and so purifies the Church, which then brings much glory and honor to her sovereign Bridegroom
[I watched a portion of this tonight on "Wretched" , Todd Friel's show.]

Great thoughts here, Don, and humbling! I'm always a bit befuddled by the "fight for our Christian freedoms" in the U.S. when it seems that persecution is more often than not God's purifying of his church. It's a tricky thing, I'm not saying that we shouldn't take advantage of our incredible democratic system when we can, but I can't help but think that God may WANT us to go through such fires at some point.
Yeah, being an American, and a Christian at the same time is harder than it seems.
I'm a Christian first, and an American second.
Christ is first, then my family, and the Church, and yet I'm glad I'm an American, and have the heritage of godly men, and the Bible.
