Southern Bluesy Rock is one of my favorite kinds of music

I watched this band last night on VH1 in a concert they played in back in 1975. As I watched I thought, "What a ragtag bunch: But what musicians." I had a few "Lynyrd Skynyrd" LP's. They were one of my favorite bands really. Something happened at the concert, as I watched, that caused me to feel a smidgen awkward. It was when they began to sing, "Sweet Home Alabama", and a huge Confederate Flag descended in the back ground. I thought, "People think this flag is an evil flag, but is it really?" And so I thought about it a bit.

I don't think it is.

If it represented slavery, then it would be wicked indeed. Slavery was evil and wrong. But I think this flag represented something else. It shows a lot more than slavery. Slavery is part of it all, but it's much more than that. It's not a racist flag. It is to some for sure: The KKK, and white supremacists, who use it for their their ungodly hatred and prejudice. But this band was nothing like that. I suppose i need to understand it all better. And I will in time, by God's grace. Well, there's much here to ponder that's for sure. At least for me there is.

Here's a photo I found, and thought it so different that I thought it would be good to post. Thought provoking to say the least.
