"So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it some day for a crown."-George Bennard

"And he shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the front of the mercy seat" Lev. 16:14 [The Day of Atonement ]
"For on this day shall atonement be made for you to cleanse you. You shall be clean before the Lord from all your sins. It is a Sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you shall afflict yourselves; it is a statute forever. And the priest who is anointed and consecrated as priest in his father's place shall make atonement, wearing the holy linen garments. He shall make atonement for the holy sanctuary, and he shall make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar, and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly. And this shall be a statute forever for you, that atonement may be made for the people of Israel once in the year because of all their sins.” And Moses did as the Lord commanded him." Lev. 16:30-34
Jesus Christ fulfilled this statute from the LORD God when He died on the Cross on the first Good Friday. Jesus cried, "It Is Finished!", and the Holy of Holies in the Temple was done away with, and the Veil was torn from top to bottom. Praise the Lord! Jesus was the Lamb of God, who took the sins of the world upon His broken holy person. He was also the High Priest, who offered His own blood for the Atonement of all His people's sins.
The Jews who keep this statute in our day, and every day since Christ made atonement on the Cross, are keeping it in vain. God no longer hears their pleas this way. He now only hears when one says, "I trust in Christ as my living sacrifice. I repent of my sins, and believe in Jesus, that He died for me and my sins. I am forgiven by His death, and justified by His resurrection. Thank you Jesus, and thank You Father for giving us Your Beloved Son. To You belongs all glory and honor. Forever and ever. Amen"
