"Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth." -Jesus, our Lord, when praying in the garden to His Father, as the hour of darkness begins.

Our Lord prayed that those who would come to Him in faith would be one. He was selflessly praying, and in His most painful hour, where He would sweat blood as He readied Himself for the Cross. His Father gave His Son this thing to do, and the Son took His Father's cup, because He loved the Father, and because He loved His children, who would otherwise die under the wrath of God's righteous condemnation. Jesus was condemned, so that we would not be. Jesus was forsaken by the Father, when on the Cross, so that we would never be forsaken.

And in the midst of the searing pain, the Father sent an Angel to comfort His Son, and strengthen Him.

Jesus told His disciples that when they loved one another, with the like mindedness of His love for them, that the world would see this witness, and know that we are followers of Christ.

There's a good ecumenical, and a bad ecumenical. The good one is when Christians have a oneness in truth and love. It can not simply be love. That would be the bad ecumenical.

The Holy Word of God must be what joins us together. His truth is awesome! And He wants us to walk in it; live by it; and love it. Paul says: "Love..rejoices in the truth."

Satan is the one who subtly steers us away from the truth; from God's Word. Or even worse he perverts it: twists it.

This is sort of a mish-mash of thoughts I'm having this morning. It's nice to have a place where I can lay my mind down, and perhaps in the future look back and see where I have been immature, and where the truth, the eternal truth, hasn't change one iota.

Have a blessed weekend to all. Especially a joyous Lord's Day!

I hope to expose my family to the good kind of ecumenical, as in a few weeks, we will attend a special event at a PCA church.
