"And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them." -Jesus Christ

[10th century Byzantine illustration of Luke the Evangelist.]

The golden rule. How often I break it. And I will always disobey this charge from our Lord, unless He grants me His grace and power to carry out the command.

And I can do this through faith in His promises to bless and fill us with His Holy Spirit.

Be encouraged that you can not do the things you want to do, because our flesh wars against the Spirit. But, when the Spirit fills us, and we are walking by trusting Christ to help us, then we can do those things that please the Lord, and our Father in heaven.

From time to time, this rule has tempered my personal sense of justice and caused me to show mercy and grace... just because I knew what I would hope for if I was in the same situation.

I think of the Word as I listen to talk radio, and they discuss how do we know what's right to do.
I think, "Why not see what the Lord Jesus Christ had to say?"

The Bible, and truth is suppressed like crazy in our day.

Thanks for sharing Craver. You're a good brother in Christ.
