A Blessed Good Friday to all who love Christ, and who are grateful for the Cross. What a Savior Jesus Christ is!

"And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”"

"It is Finished!", and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit." John 19:31

Both these paintings were done by: Sir Peter Paul Rubens (June 28, 1577 – May 30, 1640)

Jesus suffered and died in the place of sinners. I deserve to die as Christ did, and then after that death, I deserve to be condemned to eternal separation from God, in hell.

"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:4-7

We sang this song in church tonight, and so I thought I'd add it to my Good Friday post (we sang it slower, but I like it both ways):
