"So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it some day for a crown."-George Bennard

" The Starry Night", by Van Gogh, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Episode VI; and Don McLean's " Vincent.", were all part of a very blessed evening
Joshua, my oldest grandson is spending the night, and we watched Star Wars VI tonight. As Josh was getting ready to hit the sack, he was looking at a painting we have in the spare bedroom--The Starry Night. He said, "That's my favorite painting by Van Gogh."
I went on the computer and puled up this video, which we sat and watched before Josh hit the sack.
"Vincent van Gogh (March 30, 1853 - July 29, 1890) is generally considered the greatest Dutch painter after Rembrandt, though he had little success during his lifetime. Van Gogh produced all of his work (some 900 paintings and 1100 drawings) during a period of only 10 years before he succumbed to mental illness (possibly bipolar disorder) and committed suicide. His fame grew rapidly after his death especially following a showing of 71 of van Gogh's paintings in Paris on March 17, 1901 (11 years after his death)." -Chuck Ayoub
What a wonderful blessing from my Lord to allow me to have such a superb grandson as Josh. He is such a joy.
