".. my judgment is we should not trouble those of the Gentiles who turn to God, but should write to them to abstain ... from blood." -James, Acts 15

“However, you may slaughter and eat meat within any of your towns, as much as you desire, according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you. The unclean and the clean may eat of it, as of the gazelle and as of the deer. Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it out on the earth like water. .....

..... “When the Lord your God enlarges your territory, as he has promised you, and you say, ‘I will eat meat,’ because you crave meat, you may eat meat whenever you desire. If the place that the Lord your God will choose to put his name there is too far from you, then you may kill any of your herd or your flock, which the Lord has given you, as I have commanded you, and you may eat within your towns whenever you desire. Just as the gazelle or the deer is eaten, so you may eat of it. The unclean and the clean alike may eat of it. Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the flesh. You shall not eat it; you shall pour it out on the earth like water. You shall not eat it, that all may go well with you and with your children after you, when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord." Deut. 12:15-16;20-25

"Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." Matt. 26:26-28

"Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him." John 6:54-56

There is a seriousness about "blood" with the Lord God. I am going to do a bit a study on what blood means to God, and why he forbad His people to eat the blood, and yet Jesus comes and says we must drink His blood. A lot here to ponder and study. I hope the Holy Spirit will help me understand how our Lord sees the significance of blood: Human blood, and the blood of livestock and animals.

I will read the Scriptures foremost, and pray, and yet lean on some of our Lord's faithful pastors-teachers as well.

Thanks for stopping by sister! Have a blessed Lord's Day, and weekend.
