"..knowing you were ransomed from the futile ways..., not with .. things such as silver or gold, but with the PRECIOUS blood of Christ" -Peter

How precious was the blood of Christ for Peter? Peter, who was one of Jesus' best friends on earth, and who denied Him, and even rebuked our Lord to His face. I thank God for recording our brother Peter's mishaps and sin in His Holy Scriptures. I am like Peter, but only worse. Peter went on to do some great works in faith for His Lord and Savior. he would still make many mistakes, and sin, but he knew Christ died for him. He loved Jesus. Perhaps more than any other man, I'm not sure. Yet, we can also love Christ, with the same love. And that is purely and totally because Christ loved us first.

Here are a few more words from Simon Peter to us, the elect of God:

"For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls." 1st Peter 2:21-25

Here's a work of Art, that depicts the suffering of Christ, and shows His precious blood being shed, as Jesus comes to His hour; the hour His Father called Him, the hour of darkness, and fulfillment; of wrath and mercy; and of love and judgment.
Mel Gibson did the original filming, and someone put this short video together by taking various clips from Gibson's film. I thought this was well done as well. It's a good piece of Art to reflect on, I thought, as we reflect on the truth of Scripture.

*Mel Gibson, BTW, is quite a nut. But he is incredibly talented in the Art of film. I pray he would come to the Christ of Scripture; the true Jesus Christ. There are many false Christs, and false gospels. Take heed.
