Peter ..said, “Lord, how often must I forgive, when I am sinned against, 7 times?” Jesus said, “Not 7 times, but 70 times 7." Matt. 18:21-22

The forgiveness our Lord is talking about is a forgiveness for sin, when the sinner has genuine sorrow, and comes in repentance. And if this same person comes to you often in this genuine way, then we are to forgive him, or her. And yet, knowing it is genuine is the difficult part, isn't it.
Forgiveness is good for the soul, that's for sure. But it's a deep thing, and full of grace and mercy. It's not a lackadaisical thing when one forgives.

There's much more to this deep subject, so i will take it up in my next post.

Enjoy the song, and be encouraged.

"Make me an instrument of peace,
Make me a vessel of Your love,
Make me a minister of reconciliation in this world, (2 Corinthians 5:19)
Make me a picture of Your grace,
Make me a portrait of Your face,
Make me a minister of reconciliation in this world."

I really like this song. I liked it way back when, and still do. I actually met Paul Colman at my son-in-law's church at a men breakfast, where he played some music, and shared his walk with our Savior.

Wow, it's hard! These are good words for me right now, since there is someone my husband and I are not mad at and do not feel a grudge against, yet do not wish to become quite warm again with, either. Forgiveness is more than just not hating or wishing someone ill. Thanks, Don.
