"So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross, Till my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it some day for a crown."-George Bennard

"And David their king, I will raise up, ... O My servant Jacob" - Jerimiah 30:9-10
"And Behold, you [Mary] will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end. .....
also the Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:31-33,35)
"Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love." -Issac Watts
The Righteous King is gathering subjects for His eternal kingdom. It's a kingdom here and now, and yet it's in the midst of Satan's kingdom as well. Much friction to contend with here, but final, and absolute, victory is inevitable. And we know this from the angel Gabriel's message to Mary. These words are certain; they are a promise from God, and we can be confident to trust Him.
So rejoice, the King has come, and He rules on His throne with His Father, and shall rule forever and ever. Amen.
