"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom., for which I was appointed to preach."

"First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. " 1 Timohty 2:1-7

For all non-Christians to come to the truth and be saved is what my heart aches for. (Actually, I don't ache enough really). For without the one and only Mediator, Jesus Christ, a human soul will be cast into hell (Matt. 10:28), and there be forever receiving the due penalty for his or her sins.

There are false Christians who want to live in peace with all the false religions in this world. That kind of peace is human, carnal, and even devilish.

Jesus is the Prince of peace, who said, "I came not to bring peace on Earth, but a sword" (Matt. 10:34). Jesus also said, "..when you go into a household, greet it. If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you." So, Jesus' peace is big time different than this world's peace (John 14:27).

When Christ is magnified, and proclaimed in truth that only He can forgive sins, and only He can bring a human soul into the presence of the Father, (which by the way should be a Christian's overwhelming desire to do, because we have been saved by this same Christ), then some people will become upset, angry, and even hateful: Even people in the Chruch. It's a narrow gate the Gospel. And many in our day are trying to make it a broad path. But that path leads to destruction (Matt. 7:14).

Dear brothers and sisters in Jesus, don't be deceived by "the angel of light", and "his ministers of righteousness" and light (2 Corinthians 11:13-15).

Hi Don,

I was curious as to what church you attend. I have read hundreds of your comments on Pyro, Old Truth, and Camp On This, and believe that our doctrine is very compatible. My wife and I are relatively new to Maryland, and have yet to join a church.

Thanks

JMS,

Nice that you stopped by. I am attending Christ Fellowship Church in Falston MD, which is Harford County. It's a non-denom. A mixture of reformed and non-reformed believers. The pastor Greg Dutcher is the main reason we attend, because of his gift of teaching/preaching the Word. Here's the website for you: http://christfc.org/

It's a long story why I attend way up there. Let me know if you want to visit, if you are close enough that is.

Hey Don,
Interest how you put the pope's picture next to the devil coming as an angel of light quote. He might well be one of his ministers.

Thanks bro.

The whole thing of this Pope praying with Jews and Muslems, to the same god says a lot.

I would have to say there's only one God, and He is the Triune God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
To not pray in the name of Jesus to the Trune God is to pray to a false god.

Catholicism is a false religion of works, when you boil it down to the bottom of the doctrinal pot. Or at best grace + works religion.

The Catholic Church does have Christians within her, but the Church as a doctrinal and theological entity is a false church.

Thanks for coming by Triston. I like the gun on you. You look like a law officer. But in reality you're a grace offerer.

There are some appealing elements to Roman Catholic tradition.
1) The pope gets to wear the coolest hat of all time... the papal tiara. We should get those for each of our elders.
2) The Knights of Columbus wear capes and carry swords!! Think of how smoothly the annual congregational meeting could go if we had our appointed people out there with swords, man! I'll bet you'd never see anybody cutting in line at the pot lucks, boy.
3) My younger daughter is not yet 16. She is too good for any man, and that is a fact. I wish I could enroll her in a special convent where they practice the deadly arts of ninjutsu. Evangelical protestants do not have anything at all to help concerned fathers bring their daughters up to become ninja nuns.

Say whatever you will about their doctrine, but they definitely have a few advantages over us, my friend.
