"Unto another Gospel" -Galatians 1:6d

"No false teacher comes under the title of errors, neither does the devil come in his own likeness, especially that white devil we spoke of before. ...The devil will not be ugly, but he sets forth all his words with the color of truth, and with the name of God. ...he does it under a color of correcting and building up.

So he stirs up wicked spirits and ungodly teachers, which at first allow our doctrine to be holy and heavenly, and teach the same with a common consent together with us; but afterwards they say, that further mysteries of the Scriptures are revealed to them from above, and they are called for this purpose, to open them to the world.

In this manner the devil hinders the course of the Gospel, ...by building and correcting, ... So we must pray without ceasing, read the Holy Scriptures, and cleave fast unto Christ, that we may overcome the devil's subtleties: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12)." -Martin Luther

Jesus warns us and tells us to take heed to our minds and hearts, for there are many who pervert the truth. A more serious thing in this world you will not find. It's the glory of Christ, and the salvation of the soul that is at stake.

"No matter what you call it, you cannot alter the reality - 4 more inches out of the womb and this act would be called murder."

Partial Birth Abortion - Is it Really Happening? - Heritage House Literature.
[link to article on partial birth abortion]

Our president is for partial-birth abortion. He sees it as a legal way to remove a problem you don't want when, actually, it is a cruel and heinous procedure to kill a baby. This barbaric and wicked procedure should be, and must be, outlawed; but it is legal. And Barak Obama wants to keep it that way.

I pray the Lord would open his heart, and eyes, to the inhuman and savage act of partial birth abortion, which kills countless babies every year. Amen.

God is full of compassion and full of wrath. "though He causes grief, yet will He have compassion according to the multitude of His mercies."Lam. 3:32

"The Lord, the God of their fathers, sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place. But they kept mocking the messengers of God, despising his words and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, until there was no remedy.

Therefore he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or aged. He gave them all into his hand. And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king and of his princes, all these he brought to Babylon. And they burned the house of God and broke down the wall of Jerusalem and burned all its palaces with fire and destroyed all its precious vessels. He took into exile in Babylon those who had escaped from the sword, and they became servants to him and to his sons until the establishment of the kingdom of Persia, to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its Sabbaths. All the days that it lay desolate it kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years." 2 Chron. 36:15-21

The Lord is compassionately longsuffering towards sinners. But He will judge. His wrath is righteous and perfect. And we need to fear Him. The people of Israel did not fear, nor trust in the Lord. He poured out His wrath. And He sent Nebuchanezzar to destroy Jerusalem.

Will the Lord judge His Church in the same manner, as He judged Israel, as the Church in America becomes less and less godly and Christ-glorifying, and more and more "lovers of their own selves, and lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof" (2 Tim. 3:2-5)?

The true love of Christ rejoices in the truth of God's Word, and never in sinful behavior (1 Cor. 13:5). There are many who say they are Christians, and even pastors, and yet have settled for a social gospel, and a moral gospel. The true Gospel is of grace and holiness. It is all about the Cross of Christ, and His death and resurrection. The Church needs to glorify Jesus Christ far above all other endeavors. Then the deeds of the Church will be pleasing to Christ our Lord. That's what I see today in the Body of Christ for the greater part. There are those who are serving and worshipping Christ, and are sold out for Him, and are loving their neighbors. But more than not the church today is a human-centered religion of good works, and niceness, and trying to get along with everybody. And the Father in heaven will not have His Son equal to any other god, or religion.

"Unto the Son: Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: A sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of Thy kingdom. Let all the angels of God worship Him!" (Hebrews 1:8,5)

Galatians 5:17: "The desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, they are opposed to each other"

When a sinner, who was dead in his sin, is made alive in Christ, then the new heart has a newfound love, and so longs to please Jesus, the One who died for us. However, our flesh still wants to fight for self, and hates to deny itself. It's as if we are on a battlefield, and at war.
The Spirit calls us to deny ourselves. And so the battle goes forth. The struggle continues, and will continue until the Lord returns, or we "give up the ghost".

Hear what Jerry Bridges says: "We experience this struggle between the desires of the flesh and the desires of the Spirit daily. This tension causes us to sometimes wonder if the Gospel really does address this aspect of sin's power--that is, its ability to pull us toward its desires. This seems especially true in the more resepectable sins in our lives. Some of these subtle sisn seem tenacious, and we battle them daily. With others, we sometimes think we've turned the corner on one, only to discover a few days later that we've only gone around the block and are dealing with it again.

Paul's answer...."I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." ....As we seek to walk by the Spirit, we will, over time, see the Spirit working in us and through us to cleanse us from the remaining power of sin in our lives. We will never reach perfection in this life, but we will see progress. It will be incremental progress, to be sure, and sometimes it will appear to be no progress at all. But if we sincerely want to address the subtle sins in our lives, we may be sure the Holy Spirit is at work in us and through us to help us.

How the Holy Spirit works in us and through us is a mystery in the sense that we cannot comprehend of explain it. We simply accept the testimony of Scripture that He dwells in us and is at work in us to transform us more and more into the likeness of Christ (see 2 Corinthians 3:18)."

And even sometimes when we cling to our pride, lust, or whatever sin, the Lord has ways to break us: "For whom the LORD loveth He chastens." Proverbs 3:12

Be encouraged if you are a child of God. The Father loves you very deeply. For He gave His beloved Son to secure you, and bring you out of the darkness, and into His kingdom of light. And He corrects each of us, and will never let us go. What a Father we do have.

"..making peace by the blood of his cross." -St. Paul, to the saints at Colossae

I have been reading through the book of Colossians.

I thought how it must have been a wonderful blessing for the Christians in Colosse to receive this letter from the Apostle Paul. To have it read to the church as they gathered together. To then make copies of this most precious epistle, and take it home, and read it; enjoy the truths in it; and be encouraged by the love found therein.

We can also rejoice in Paul's letter, and experience the love, joy and peace it brings to our hearts, as we read and ponder these truths prayerfully; as the Holy Spirit enlightens our minds and comforts our souls.

True peace. Isn't that what the human soul longs for? I know I do. The fake peace doesn't do much good, does it? There's plenty of that around. Humanistic peace, or world peace is fleeting at best.

The Apostle says, with the authority of the inspired Word from our Lord, "And having made PEACE through the blood of His Cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself." And he says earlier in this same letter: "Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.
In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins."

The true peace, the peace that our souls long for is to be at peace with God. And there's no peace without Christ. God said through Isaiah in two seperate places ,(Isa. 48:22;57:12). there's no peace for the wicked.
However, in the the middle of these two statements, in chapter 53, the Lord's prophet says, "..the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed" (ver.5).

And then in chapter 54 God says to us: "..My kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, says the LORD that has mercy on you (ver.10)." I say a big Amen to that truth.

Where do we find this "covenant of God's peace"?
At the Cross of Christ!
God has given us His precious Son.
Jesus bled for our sins.
His blood was precious.
Our sins were, and are, wicked deeds which God hates. Christ became our sin (2 Cor. 5:21), and died a sinners death, as our substitute, and we are made righteous in His robe of righteousness. Our every wicked deed, word, and thought are-- through the cross-- forever forgiven. Our sins are cleansed by His blood. And so when a sinner comes to Christ, and bows before Him, and asks for His acceptance, and for His forgivenss, then the sinner will know the true peace of God, the one true peace in this world that is not fleeting, but is eternal.
