Is this a good thing, or a bad thing for a President to have done? And to be remembered for?

"NOW, THEREFORE, I, WILLIAM J. CLINTON, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2000 as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month. I encourage all Americans to observe this month with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities that celebrate our diversity and recognize the gay and lesbian Americans whose many and varied contributions have enriched our national life.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this second day of June, in the year of our Lord two thousand, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and twenty-fourth."

WILLIAM J. CLINTON

Well, I think it's bad. Only because God would never endorse this Pride Month declaration. No possible way.

Is there other ways of addressing the Homosexual community? Absolutely.

If I were President, I would say each and every homosexual in America has the same rights as any other human being, and he forfeits his rights if he breaks the law, like any other human being in America.
As far as what they decide about sex in their lives is to be, that is up to them again, as long as they abide by the laws established in their State, and this nation.

As a Christian, I would say that fornication is a sin the Bible tells us to flee, without exception. Sex is a marvelous gift from our Lord, and we need to know, and understand, His heart about sexual behavior. The Holy Scriptures teach us what we need to know. God is a good God, and He longs to bless us, so go to Him, and seek His will, not your own will. Find a good church, and study the Bible, and you will grow as a tree planted by the river, "that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers." Psalm 1:3

That's what I think about Bill's statement, or declaration as the President.

The problem with condemning homosexual behavior is that our own sin are fair game for critique. We don't want that. We don't want to submit to a pure moral standard because our own improprieties are glaringly noticeable. If we find something shameful to accept as normal, it is easier to be praised as a saint by the masses. And that's what we want, right? To be praised by our fellow man. In such a relativistic scenario, Clinton's reputation does not appear to be quite so aberrant.

But if we want to hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant." from an audience of One, we compare to God's perfect holiness and discover that we fall short. We have to admit that we are morally bankrupt, and trust completely on the finished work of Christ.

The world does not need a Presidential proclamation for devious acts and promiscuity... it needs the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Yep. The Holy Spirit will come to "convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged." John 16:8-10

So the world needs to hear the Gospel, as you have said Craver. And the good news of Christ is good only because there is very bad news for all those who don't repent and trust in Christ.

Thanks for sharing your excellent thoughts bro.

I really need to study why the Holy Spirit will convict the world of judgment because Satan has been judged. Way too deep for me.

The Spirit convicts of sin, and that's a good thing. And since our Lord is no longer here, as the Righteous One, the Holy Spirit works within the Church to help us seek His righteousness first, and speak it, and live it, by faith only, through grace alone.
