"Love Wins", a book by Rob Bell, is quite welcome, for it reveals his heart, and his error, and also reveals all our hearts, doesn't it.

I read an excellent review on this new book by Bell. The book is featured on Time magazine's cover,(which is quite telling isn't it). Here's the Time Mag. article: http://www.time.com/time/printout/0,8816,2065080,00.html

Serious stuff. Serious teaching from Bell. The Gospel is precious, and should never be twisted. The Apostle Paul tells us this: "As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed." Paul even says, "If an angel from heaven tells to you a different gospel, let that angel go to hell." This is very serious. Very serious indeed.

Here's an excerpt from Pastor Kevin DeYoung's review:

"At the very heart of this controversy, and one of the reasons the blogosphere exploded over this book, is that we really do have two different Gods. The stakes are that high. If Bell is right, then historic orthodoxy is toxic and terrible. But if the traditional view of heaven and hell are right, Bell is blaspheming. I do not use the word lightly, just like Bell probably chose “toxic” quite deliberately. Both sides cannot be right. As much as some voices in evangelicalism will suggest that we should all get along and learn from each other and listen for the Spirit speaking in our midst, the fact is we have two irreconcilable views of God." -Kevin Deyoung

Those voices in the "visible church" saying that we should all get along remind me of the false prophets in Jeremiah's day. It's so sad, really.

They should be more concerned about getting along... with God.

Amen Craver. And to get along with God you have GOT TO read, study, and poner His Word. Or as Jesus said, "We need to eat His flesh and drink His blood."

Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Don, I haven’t been by in a while but just wanted to say thanks for the right-on post about Bell. I don’t think I can handle reading the Time’s article right now which I noticed ended with this, “But this much is clear: Rob Bell has much to say, and many are listening.” How sad, although, it really is no surprise in these last days… is it? I guess Bell also provides a means for separating the “wheat from the tares”.

You and your readers probably have already seen this, but just in case not, the Grace To You blog started a series devoted to Bell on Tuesday with a post entitled, “Rob Bell: a Brother to Embrace, or a Wolf to Avoid?” and added another yesterday entitled, “Rob Bell: “Evangelical and orthodox to the bone?” Hardly.” I found them both very good.

They are available here:

Also, The Christian Worldview Radio Program will devote this Saturdays show, as it did last week, to the Rob Bell issue. Found here:

Take care.

Thanks bro. I appreciate the links, and your dropping by.
Have a terrific Lord's day.

And it's only by grace that I am what I am. I realize that I would be caught up in all this shallow religion of Bell if not for God's grace. But for His mercy and Spirit, there go I.
