"I believe in God the Father, And in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, our Lord."

"I believe what I believe is what makes me what I am. It is the very truth of God, and not the invention of any man."

The Holy Scriptures teach us this truth, and so I also sing this Creed, and am inspired, and my affection for Jesus, and my Father, through the Holy Spirit is stronger when I know these truths, and act upon them. Amen.

Don; this is a very nice song and I don't have a problem with what he has said.
But please listen to the words of the first sentence in his lyrics.

"I believe in God the Father maker of heaven, maker of earth and in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son."

Can you see and hear what he said? He said that God the Father created heaven and earth.
He certainly is spot on!
Look I will show it to you in the Bible.
(John 1:3) "All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made."
Here you can see that Jesus created all things.
Keep on reading, "and darkness did not understand".
(v.10) "He was in the world, and the world KNEW Him NOT".
(v.11) "He came to His own, and His own RECEIVED Him NOT".

So then, who is the creator?
Answer, 'your heavenly Father'.
And what is His Name?
Answer, 'JESUS'!
Just as it is written in the Bible, (Isa.9:6). And He (Jesus) will be called 'EVERLASTING FATHER'.

Don; in your previous post, and in your last comment you have portrayed the gods as one god is speaking to another god and they having a dialogue with each other.
The one god is saying to the other god 'not my will be done, but your will be done'.
One god can do nothing of his own unless the other 'bigger' god grants him to do so.
The little god pleads with the big god, 'why have you forsaken me' etc.

Don! A man of God of your caliber ought not to speak like that.
You ought to give all the glory to Jesus Christ our Lord and God and repent of all of your other gods.
Please don't sweep it under the carpet and pretend that the Lord has not spoken to you.
Lots of brotherly love
Paul

Paul, your use of the term "other gods" here demonstrates more than a different take on the meaning of the Trinity. We already know that you do not believe the same way we do regarding the historic Christian position regarding the essence and persons of the Godhead.

But I think you go beyond civil discourse when rephrasing Don's words that way. Don (and I) have never acknowledged "other gods" and never will. Please do not make such allegations.

Don, I have been hearing that song, at least in part, every Sunday for months. We are going through an 18-week study on The Apostles' Creed in Sunday School. That song is part of the video's intro. We're almost finished with the series now. Great stuff!
