The RedSkins are now Deadskins. 1-05-08

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren, right, greets Washington Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs after of an NFL wildcard playoff football game Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, in Seattle. Seattle won 35-14.

Washington Redskins safety LaRon Landry sits on the bench after the Redskins lost ... Landry took over the safety position after Redskins safety Sean Taylor, who is memorialized on signs held behind Landry, who was killed last year during a robbery of his home.

I cheered for the Skins, and they played well I thought, and came back to take the lead, but the Seahawks were a little better in the end. Oh well, maybe next year. The Skins sure had a remarkable year just the same, especially beating Dallas! But making the playoffs is a very good thing indeed. And with the tragedy of Sean Taylor being killed this season, this season shall surely be engraved upon the hearts of many of the Redskins players, if not all of them, forever.

One thing that always drives me crazy is how the play by play announcers seem to think that when a football player dies, then that same player is in heaven watching the game. First off, if the one who died was not a Christian, then he's not even in heaven. But if he was a Christian, (and I do not know if Sean Taylor was, or wasn't), he surely isn't watching the game.
It seems people make up whatever they want, and just say what would be the nicest thing to say, whatever that may be. For me, that's just wrong.
